County fayre Foods  -  We use locally sourced produce wherever possible in meals prepared on site thus supporting local shops and businesses.  It also provides us with traceability, especially for our meat.  This gives you the customer confidence you are eating a quality meal.  We cook a good selection of steaks from our grill to your liking - as we have confidence in our suppliers we will cook steaks from `blue` to well done.  Where we cannot supply from local businesses we will only purchase from trusted major suppliers. 

We employ no Chefs - just Mother and Son do the cooking - so if we wouldn`t eat it we won`t sell it to you!!

An addition to regular English fayre we can now offer two evenings a month (last Friday and Saturday) on which we offer Thai cuisine only (rather than English) cooked by a Thai lady.  She has worked in several restaurants around County Durham and Darlington over the last few years and the next dates for Thai food are:

Fri 27th and Sat 28th July 2012

Fri 24th and Sat 25th August 2012 (Bank Holiday weekend)

The Thai evenings are becoming increasingly popular so get your booking in early!!

For Thai evenings the starters range from £4 to £5.50 and main courses from £8 to £12.  Standard dessert (£4.95) and coffee (£1.90) charges apply , if you have room! 

Main English Menu - Starters include Large Battered Prawns with sweet chilli dip, Soup of the day, Prawn cocktail, Potato Wedges, Garlic Bread and many more.  Prices here start from £3.75.

Main Courses include Steaks (10oz Sirloin, Rib eye, Gammon or 16oz T-Bone and Mixed Grill all cooked to your liking), Battered Cod, Wholetail Scampi, House prepared meals like Steak and ale pie, Cottage pie, Lasagne, Braised Beef, Curry, Chicken and Leek pie and cheaper meals including Cumberland sausage and mash, Large filled Yorkshire pudding or Grilled Pork Chop.  Prices here range from £6.50 to £16.25.

Desserts are keenly priced at £4.95 each and a large selection is available.

We also have a Vegetarian board at £9.50 for a variety of meals, a childrens menu at £5.25 per meal and can cater for special diets if we are aware at time of booking.
